We aim to become a favorite stop for our STOL community.

STOL Pilots Welcome (just talk with us first, please)

  • Runway

The runway at Roach Farm is about 2,300 feet long, and 35 feet wide in its narrowest part. Turnarounds are adequate for tailwheel aircraft, but can be tight for some tricycle-gear planes. There’s a slight downhill at the beginning of Runway 23, and a forested area off the departure end. Approach to Runway 5 is over those trees.

When there is little or no wind, we prefer landing on 23 and departing on 5.

  • Hangar

Currently, we have a 100’ x 50’ Quonset hangar, which is at capacity. We plan to add additional barns which will be able to house aircraft. We have a waiting list already. Contact us to be added to the waiting list.

Priority is given to tailwheel aircraft and those capable of back-country operations.

We do not have established tie-down spots. If you visit, bring your own tie-downs. We encourage devices like The Claw.

  • Community

We have a community of like-minded pilots and families and look to maintain an orientation to family-friendly aviation operations. We welcome visitors with prior arrangement. The property is not open to the public.

Transient aircraft camping is by prior arrangement with management. Text or call 423-430-9619 for details.

Campers should bring your own drinking water and be prepared to store your food with bears in mind. We have water for hand-washing, but it is not meant for drinking.

We have a charcoal grill which campers are welcomed to use, and picnic tables for your convenience.

We are operating a small agricultural operation, so be prepared for hay cutting and baling, and some orchard spaces.
